Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team. This role involves executing maintenance and repairs on our diverse fleet of diesel and gas-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance, with expertise in fuel systems, transmissions, brakes, wheel bearings, undercarriage, and engine performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced maintenance and repairs on a wide range of diesel and gas-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical issues in engines, fuel systems, transmissions, brake systems, wheel bearings, undercarriages, and engine performance.
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are in optimal working condition, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
- Oversee the completion of preventative maintenance tasks to avoid costly repairs and extend vehicle lifespan.
- Manage inventory for parts and tools necessary for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities in accordance with company policies.
- Complete service work orders through Aspire, ensuring all tasks are documented, tracked, and closed out in the system.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and the team.
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures to improve fleet reliability.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure timely and efficient repair turnaround for vehicles and equipment.
- Perform emergency repairs when needed to ensure the fleet remains operational at all times.
Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years of experience as a mechanic, with a focus on fleet maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with fuel systems, transmissions, brake systems, wheel bearings, undercarriage, and engine performance.
- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
